Mount Vernon, Virginia

The tomb of George Washington and Martha. Behind the iron door, 25 of their relatives are entombed. The plaque above says:

I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. St. John 11:25-26

This is the front yard of President Washington's house. What an awesome view!

See next picture!

See above picture. This is in a small shack out in the back of the house.

Jay and Ellie got to meet Martha Washington.

The helper's quarters.

The mansion. We didn't get to go inside because there was a very long line and it was cold and rainy outside.
On the last day that my family was here in Maryland, we decided to go to Mount Vernon, the residence of George and Martha Washington. You can walk around the entire estate, tour the mansion, see the quarters and the kitchen, laundry room, etc. ; and also visit the large museum that tells all about George Washington. I am really not that into history but this was a very neat place. I learned alot!
